We have simplified the certification process to help your organisation become certified in the most cost and time effective way possible.
As a JAS-ANZ accredited certification body, MSCGlobal follows a structured audit and certification process that meets the requirements of ISO/IEC 17021, the international standard governing bodies that audit and certify management systems. While the process is thorough and credible, we have designed our client-facing experience to be as straightforward as possible. From your first enquiry through to receiving your certificate, our team guides you at every stage, explains what is required, and works to minimise disruption to your operations. Below is an overview of each stage in the certification journey.
Your certification journey begins with a conversation. Contact our team by phone or through our online enquiry form to discuss your organisation's certification needs, the standard you wish to certify against, and the scope of your management system. Based on your organisation's size, number of sites, and complexity, we will prepare a fixed-price quote with no hidden costs.
Once you are ready to proceed, we complete a formal application and enter into a certification agreement setting out the scope, applicable standard, planned audit schedule, and obligations of both parties. Our team will walk you through the documentation and assist with completing it accurately, as defining the scope correctly at this stage determines what your certificate ultimately covers.
The Stage 1 audit is a structured review of your management system documentation to confirm it is sufficiently developed for the Stage 2 implementation audit. You will receive a written report identifying any areas requiring attention, and we will agree on a realistic Stage 2 timeline based on the findings.
Duration: The Stage 1 audit is typically conducted remotely or on-site in one day, depending on the size and complexity of your organisation.
The Stage 2 audit is the main on-site assessment, evaluating whether your management system is implemented and effective across your operations through staff interviews, process observation, and records review. Any nonconformities identified are formally classified. Major nonconformities must be closed before certification is granted; minor ones are addressed within an agreed timeframe after certification.
Duration: The Stage 2 audit typically takes one to three days on-site, depending on the number of staff, the complexity of processes, and the number of locations within the certification scope.
Audit findings are reviewed independently of the conducting auditor before a formal certification decision is made. Once positive, MSCGlobal issues your accredited certificate bearing the JAS-ANZ mark, valid for three years subject to ongoing surveillance audits.
Surveillance & Recertification
ISO certification is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time event. The following stages ensure your certificate remains valid and your management system continues to deliver real value to your organisation.
Surveillance audits are conducted annually in years one and two of the certification cycle to verify your management system remains effective and that certification commitments are being maintained. They are mandatory. A certificate will be suspended if not completed within the required timeframe.
Duration: Surveillance audits are typically completed in one day for most organisations, though larger or multi-site organisations may require more time.
At the end of each three-year cycle, a recertification audit renews your certificate for a further three years. MSCGlobal will contact you well in advance to schedule the audit, and organisations that maintain their system throughout the cycle generally find recertification straightforward.
Duration: Recertification audits are typically scheduled for one to two days, depending on the size and complexity of your organisation.
Your accredited certificate is a credible, third-party verified statement of your management system's conformance, recognised in tenders, contracts, and supplier prequalification. If your business grows or changes scope, MSCGlobal will work with you to update your certification accordingly.
